I recall the moment when I went on the stage to receive my award — I thought about my elementary school, where I was in a bilingual class, struggling with Math. I am proud to be teaching Information Architecture at Parsons this semester. In addition to the lessons about, and explorations of, what design should be, design crits also have a responsibility to get you to learn your own best answer to the how-to-do-it questions as well. Today, he's a recent Honors Program graduate with a degree in architecture and the first USD student to be admitted to the Masters of Architecture Program at the Harvard School of Design. I was not completely sure if it was really architecture what I wanted to do, but I knew I was already a designer.
